Old Lyme

Town in New London County, Connecticut, USA, on the eastern bank at the mouth of the Connecticut River, 16 km/10 mi southeast of New London; population (1990) 6,500. It includes the villages of South Lyme, Laysville, and Black Hall. A resort and dormitory settlement, Old Lyme has numerous old houses of architectural interest. The town of Lyme lies adjacent to the north.
