Oldmeldrum

Market town and former burgh in Aberdeenshire unitary authority, Scotland, 8 km/5 mi northeast of Inverurie; population (2001) 2,000. Local industries include agricultural and engineering services. The Hill of Barra overlooks the town to the south, rising to a height of 193 m/633 ft. A prehistoric fort is sited on its summit.

The B9170 Inverury to Old Meldrum road, B977 Kintore to Fintry, B979 Netherley to Maryculter at South Deeside Road and B974 Banchory to Fettercairn at Feughside were all badly affected.
