Oliveros, Pauline (1932– )

US composer. Her works employ live electronics and scenic effects, often guided by meditation.

She worked at the San Francisco Tape Music Center 1961–67 and has taught electronic music at San Diego from 1967.

Works opera, choral, and vocal ceremonial opera Crow Two (1974); King Kong Sings Along for chorus (1977); The New Sound Meditation for voices (1989); Midnight Operas for chorus (1992); Nzinga, the Queen King music theatre (1993).
