Omer, St (c. 595-c. 670)

French bishop of Thérouanne from 637. His see included the present-day Pas-de-Calais and Flanders, in Belgic Gaul. He was the cofounder of Sithin Abbey, around which grew the town now known as St Omer. His feast day is 9 September.
