Cameron was elected to parliament aged 35 in 2001, was promoted to the opposition front bench two years later, was elected leader of the Conservative Party in 2005, and is now surely odds-on to become the next prime minister.
reminds us that at times such as these it's important to celebrate mediocrity wherever we find it, be it the dance floor, the X Factor, the currency markets, the English cricket team or the opposition front bench.
