Oronsay

Small island of the Inner Hebrides, in Argyll and Bute unitary authority, Scotland, about 4 km/3 mi long, situated 16 km/10 mi west of Jura; population (2001) 5. Colonsay, its companion island to the north, is connected at low tide by a wide sandy beach. The island contains the ruins of a 14th-century priory.
