Orfeide, L'

Cycle of operas by Francesco Malipiero (libretto by composer). There are three cycles: I. La morte delle maschere/The Death of the Maskers; II. Sette canzoni/Seven Songs, produced in French translation at the Paris Opéra on 10 July 1920; and III. L'Orfeo, ossia l'ottava canzone/Orpheus, or the Eighth Song. The cycle was first produced in complete form, in German translation, on 30 October 1925, in Düsseldorf.
