Orfeo ed Euridice

Opera by Ferdinando Bertoni (libretto by Raniero da Calzabigi, written for Christoph Willibald von Gluck), which tells the story of Orpheus descending into Hades to bring back his deceased Eurydice. It was produced at the Teatro San Benedetto, Venice, on 3 January 1776.

Opera by Christoph Willibald von Gluck (libretto ditto), produced at the Burgtheater, Vienna, on 5 October 1762. (For the French version, see Orphée et Eurydice.)
