Oswego County

County of northern-central New York State, USA, bounded to the north by Lake Ontario and to the south by Oneida Lake and the Oneida River; area 2,471 sq km/954 sq mi; population (1990) 121,800. Its joint seats are Oswego and Pulaski. The industrial port of Oswego is a major power generating centre on the St Lawrence Seaway, and further industry takes place in Fulton. A large proportion of the county is agricultural, producing dairy foods, fruits, and vegetables. Resort developments are numerous, especially on the lakes.
