Othmer, Donald F (1904–1995)| US chemical engineer and educator. Of his more than 150 patents, the Othmer still (1927), which improved the design of distillation plants and processes, was his most important. He coedited the Kirk-Othmer Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology. |
| Othmer was born in Omaha, Nebraska. After five years at Kodak (1927–32), he taught at Polytechnic University in New York. |
