Otterburn

Village in Northumberland, England, on the River Rede, 51 km/32 mi northwest of Newcastle; population (2001) 500. Nearby is the site of the Battle of Otterburn, fought in 1388 between the English and the Scots, in which the English army under Henry ‘Hotspur’ Percy was defeated by the Earl of Douglas and his troops.
