Otterloo, (Jan) Willem van (1907–1978)

Dutch conductor and composer. He studied at the Amsterdam Conservatory under Dresden and others. He was appointed second conductor of the Utrecht Municipal Orchestra in 1933 and became first conductor in 1937. He remained in this post until 1973, when he became music director at Düsseldorf.

Works

symphony, three suites and passacaglia for orchestra; chamber music, piano and organ works.
