Ouachita River

River in Arkansas and Louisiana; length 973 km/605 mi. It rises in the Ouachita Mountains in southwest Arkansas and flows southeast across the state into Louisiana, where it enters the Red River. Navigable as far as Camden, Arkansas, the Ouachita flows through resort areas in its upper reaches, forests in its middle stretches, and cotton and ranch lands in its lower section.
