Outagamie County

County of eastern Wisconsin, USA, drained by the Wolf, Fox, and Embarrass rivers; area 1,663 sq km/642 sq mi; population (1990) 140,500. Its seat is Appleton. The mainstays of its economy are papermaking, along the Fox River in the southeast, and dairy farming, which occurs throughout the county. Some livestock, oats, and corn are also produced.
