Oyster Bay

Town in eastern Nassau County, New York State, USA; population 292,700. Stretching from the North Shore to the South Shore, it includes Oyster Bay village, Hicksville, Bethpage, Syosset, Farmingdale, Massapequa, and numerous other suburban and resort communities. The quiet residential village of Oyster Bay lies on Oyster Bay Harbor on Long Island's North Shore; population (1990) 6,700. Theodore Roosevelt's home, Sagamore Hill, is in Cove Neck to the northeast.
