Ozone Park

Residential and commercial district of southwest Queens, New York State, USA. It lies west of Jamaica and northwest of John F Kennedy International Airport. Furnituremaking and other light industries in the area have largely given way to an economy centred on the nearby airport. Originally part of the old town of Jamaica, Ozone Park was developed in the early 20th century in a largely agricultural area north of Jamaica Bay; the name refers to the reputedly beneficial qualities of ‘ozone’ in the seaside air.

South Ozone Park, the district closer to Kennedy, includes some of the area's poorer suburbs, as well as the Aqueduct race track.
