We have known about PTFE toxicity for more than 25 years, though not everyone keeping pet birds in a bird cage in their living rooms or kitchens is aware of the dangers faced by these birds.
The new Elaflon PTFE universal hoses, developed by Elaflex-Gummi Ehlers GmbH (Hamburg, Germany) in partnership with ContiTech Schlauch GmbH (Korbach, Germany), are equipped with a seamlessly-extruded and smooth lining made of Teflon PTFE 62.
These materials include PTFE (Teflon), PTFE with ceramic fillers and non-FTFE thermoset resin systems with ceramic loading, as well as bonding materials used to make multilayers from these materials.
