Paddington| Area of west London, England, situated north of Hyde Park and west of Marylebone. Paddington station is one of London's main railway stations, serving Wales and the West of England. Until about 1820 Paddington was a village, but its selection as a terminus for the Great Western Railway in the 1830s brought rapid development. The name Paddington means ‘the settlement of Padda's people’. |
