Pardon de Ploërmel, Le

Opera by Giacomo Meyerbeer (libretto by Jules Barbier and Michel Carré), produced in Paris, at the Opéra-Comique, on 4 April 1859. The work is also known as Dinorah. In the story, Dinorah has gone mad after losing her husband Hoël during a storm on their wedding day. A year later Hoël returns, seeking a buried treasure, but he does not recognize her. After saving her from drowning, Hoël realizes who she is and Dinorah recovers.
