Park Forest

Town in Cook and Will counties, northeastern Illinois, USA, 45 km/28 mi southwest of Chicago; population (1990) 24,700. A suburb of Chicago, it was developed as a planned residential community by American Community Builders after World War II. Industries include the manufacture of food processing equipment and hand tools.

In The Organization Man (1956), the US urban sociologist William H Whyte described the environment of Park Forest in the 1950s.
