Parker, Dorothy (1893–1967)US writer and wit. She was a leading member of the literary circle known as the Algonquin Round Table. She reviewed for the magazines Vanity Fair and the New Yorker, and wrote wittily ironic verses, collected in several volumes including Enough Rope (1927), and Not So Deep as a Well (1936). Her short stories include the collections ‘Laments for Living’ (1930), and ‘Here Lies’ (1939).
