Parkland

College town in Pierce County, western-central Washington, USA, 10 km/6 mi south of Tacoma; population (1990) 20,900. Situated in parklike terrain, it is a residential suburb and the seat of Pacific Lutheran University (1890). McChord Air Force Base lies nearby to the west.
