Parsons

Town in Labette County, southeastern Kansas, USA, 48 km/30 mi southwest of Pittsburg; population (1990) 11,900. It is an agricultural processing and rail distribution centre for the region's grain, livestock, wool, dairy products, and poultry. Educational foundations include Labette Community College (1923). Nearby lakes provide popular recreation for visitors.
