Partenope

Opera by Handel (libretto by S Stampiglia), produced in London at the King's Theatre, Haymarket, on 24 February 1730. The story concerns the couples Partenope and Armindo, and Rosmira and Arsace, who are united after complications of betrayal, jealousy, and false identity.

Opera by Johann Hasse (libretto by Metastasio), produced in Vienna at the Burgtheater, on 9 September 1767.
