Pashchenko, Andrey Filipovich (1883–1972)| Russian composer. He entered the St Petersburg Conservatory in 1914, after receiving private musical instruction, and studied composition under Maksimilian Steinberg and Joseph Wihtol. He was active as teacher and music organizer, but devoted most of his time to composition. During World War II he remained at Leningrad throughout the siege. |
