Patapsco

River in Maryland, USA; length 105 km/65 mi. It is formed to the west of Baltimore by the junction of the North and South branches and flows out to Chesapeake Bay. Baltimore is at the head of its estuary.

Patapsco State Park (4,660 ha/11,500 acres), along the river west of Baltimore, is an important regional recreational area.
