Pathétique Symphony

Tchaikovsky's sixth symphony, in B minor, Op. 74, composed in 1893 and first performed under the composer, at St Petersburg, on 28 October 1893. The title ‘Tragic Symphony’ was suggested by the composer's brother Modest, but rejected by Tchaikovsky, who afterwards agreed to the adjective ‘Pathétique’.
