Patti, Adelina (Adela Juana Maria) (1843–1919)

Anglo-Italian soprano. She was renowned for her performances of Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor and Amina in La sonnambula. At the age of 62 she was persuaded out of retirement to make a number of gramophone recordings, thus becoming one of the first opera singers to be recorded.
