Paulli, Holger (Simon) (1810–1891)

Danish conductor and composer. He made the violin his principal study, becoming a violinist in the royal orchestra. In 1849 he was made leader, and in 1864 he became its conductor; he also conducted orchestral and choral societies. In 1866, with Gade and J P E Hartmann, he became one of the directors of the Copenhagen Conservatory.
