Paulus, Stephen (Harrison) (1949– )

US composer. He is best known for his operas. He studied at the University of Minnesota with Dominick Argento and founded the Minnesota Composer's Forum in 1973. He was composer-in-residence with the Minnesota Orchestra 1983–87, and with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra 1987–91.

Opera

The Village Singer (1979), The Postman Always Rings Twice (1981), The Woodlanders (1985), and Harmoonia (1991).

Orchestral

Concerto for Orchestra (1983), Symphony in Three Movements (1985), violin concerto (1987), Symphony for Strings (1989).

Choral

So Hallow'd is the Time for soloists, chorus and orchestra.
