Payette

Seat of Payette County, southwestern Idaho, USA, on the Snake River at the Oregon border, 77 km/48 mi northwest of Boise; population (1990) 5,600. It is a trading, processing, and distribution centre for an agricultural, dairy farming, and poultry raising area. Products include canned and dried fruits and vegetables.

The baseball player Harmon Killebrew was born here in 1936.
