Peeters, Flor (1903–1986)

Belgian organist and composer. He toured widely as a recitalist and edited several collections of early organ music. He held teaching posts at the Lemmens Institute, Mechlin, and at the conservatories of Ghent, Tilburg, and Antwerp; he was director of the latter 1952–68.

He studied at Mechlin and with Marcel Dupré and Charles Tournemire at Paris. In 1925 he was appointed organist of Mechlin Cathedral.

eight Masses, Te Deum, organ concerto, piano concerto, concerto for organ and piano; about 200 organ works; chamber music, piano works; songs.
