Peffenhauser (or Pfeffenhauser), Anton (c. 1525–1603)

German armourer from Augsburg. He specialized in plate armour that was for ceremonial parade rather than combat, producing magnificently decorated suits of armour that were extremely elaborate. His clients included German princes, members of the court of Philip II of Spain, and King Sebastian of Portugal.
