Penn Yan

Village in Milo township, western-central New York State, USA, at the northern end of Keuka Lake, 24 km/15 mi southwest of Geneva; population (1990) 5,200. It is a tourist and boatbuilding centre situated in a winemaking region. The name Penn Yan is a compromise struck by settlers from Pennsylvania and Yankees from New England.

Jemima Wilkinson's religious colony Jerusalem lay 10 km/6 mi to the southwest of Penn Yan.
