| Macedonian general. On the death of Alexander the Great, he sought to gain central control of Alexander's empire, but in the struggle for power between the Diadochi he was opposed by the generals Antipater, Antigonus, Craterus, and Ptolemy. His soldiers were incited to mutiny by Ptolemy and they murdered him. |
