Perkowski, Piotr (1901–1990)

Polish composer. He attended the classes of Statkowski and Szymanowski, at the Warsaw Conservatory. He later studied with Roussel in Paris, where in 1927 he founded a society of young Polish composers with Czapski, Labuński, and Wiechowicz. He returned to Poland, and in 1935 became director of the Torum Conservatory.

Works ballets Swantewid, Klementyna; two symphonies (1925, 1963), sinfonietta for small orchestra; piano concerto, two violin concertos (1938, 1960); string quartet; songs.
