Perls, Laura (1906–1990)

German-born US psychotherapist who, together with her husband, Fritz, helped develop the gestalt method of psychotherapy. The gestalt treatment relies on a wide range of techniques to treat emotional illness, including some derived from theatre and dance movement. Perls and her husband founded the New York Institute for Gestalt Therapy 1952.
