Pervouralsk

Town in Sverdlovsk oblast (region) of the Russian Federation, on the Yekaterinburg–Perm railway line 45 km/28 mi west of Yekaterinburg; population (1996 est) 137,000. It has plants specializing in pipe rolling, mining equipment, and metalworking. Pervouralsk was founded in 1732 as an ironworks.
