Peter I (1844-1921)

King of Serbia from 1903. He was the son of Prince Alexander I Karageorgevich and was elected king when the last Obrenovich king was murdered in 1903. He took part in the retreat of the Serbian army in 1915, and in 1918 was proclaimed first king of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes (renamed Yugoslavia in 1921).
