Peter II (1923-1970)

King of Yugoslavia 1934-45. He succeeded his father, Alexander I, and assumed the royal power after the overthrow of the regency in 1941. He escaped to the UK after the German invasion, and married Princess Alexandra of Greece 1944. He was dethroned in 1945 when Marshal Tito came to power and the Soviet-backed federal republic was formed.
