Petrucci, Ottaviano dei (1466–1539)

Italian music printer. He established himself at Venice around 1491 where he held a patent for the publication of music in tablature and notes (1498–1511). In 1511 he returned to Fossombrone to continue his business there. He issued many famous collections of masses, motets, and frottole.
