Phillipsburg

Town in Warren County, northwestern New Jersey, USA, on the Delaware River, opposite Easton, Pennsylvania, 68 km/42 mi northwest of Trenton; population (1991) 15,800. It is a food processing and distribution point situated in an agricultural area; industrial products include boilers, pipes, chemicals, and tools. Settled in 1739, Phillipsburg grew with the coming of the railway and was an iron and steel centre by the mid 19th century.
