Philo, Quintus Publilius (lived 4th century BC)

Roman general and the first plebeian consul 339 BC. In the same year he was appointed first plebeian dictator and passed a law which stated that one consul must always be a plebeian.

Philo was also the first plebeian praetor 337 and held the consulship a further three times 327, 320, and 315. He was the first plebeian dictator 339 BC, and censor 332 BC.
