PhotoCD

Picture storage and viewing system developed by Kodak and Philips which provides digital copies of photographs taken with non-digital cameras. The PhotoCD allows the user to put up to 100 photos onto compact disc: images are transferred from film to a PhotoCD disk and can then be viewed by means of Kodak's own PhotoCD player, which plugs into a television set, or by using suitable software on a PC.

PhotoCD is based on multisession WORM (write-once read many times) technology. The images can be written to the disk in multiple recording sessions.
