Phraates III

Phraates III (lived 1st century BC)

King of Parthia 70–57 BC, son and successor of Sinatruces. He made an alliance with the Roman military leader Pompey against Tigranes, King of Armenia. He was later deceived by Pompey and was forced to return territory. He was murdered by his sons Orodes II and Mithridates III.
