piano quartet

Quartet of piano and three other instruments (usually violin, viola, and cello), or the music written for such an ensemble. The earliest examples played today are those by Mozart (K478 and K493). The quartet of Beethoven (Op. 16) and three quartets of Brahms (Op. 25, Op. 26, Op. 60) are also well-known.
