Pict

Roman term for a member of the peoples of northern Scotland, possibly meaning ‘painted’ (tattooed). Of pre-Celtic origin, and speaking a Celtic language which died out in about the 10th century, the Picts are thought to have inhabited much of England before the arrival of the Celtic Britons. They were united with the Celtic Scots under the rule of Kenneth MacAlpin in 844. Their greatest monument is a series of carved stones, whose symbols remain undeciphered.

PICT

In computing, object-oriented file format used on the Apple Macintosh computer. The format uses QuickDraw and is supported by almost all graphics applications on the Macintosh.
