Pike, Rosamund (1979– )| English actor. After acting on British television she became known to wider audiences in role as ‘Bond girl’ Miranda Frost in the James Bond film Die Another Day (2002). Other films include an adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice (2005), with Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen, and the video game adaptation Doom (2005). |
| While still at university she appeared in Love in a Cold Climate (2001) a BBC mini-series adaptation of Nancy Mitford's novels The Pursuit of Love and Love in a Cold Climate. She also appeared in the Earl of Rochester (John Wilmot) biopic The Libertine (2004), opposite Johnny Depp. |
| She was born in London to a musical family; her mother was an opera singer mother and her father a concert violinist, and Pike became a proficient pianist and cellist. She studied English literature at Wadham College, Oxford University, where she appeared in a variety of student theatre productions including Arthur Miller's All My Sons, David Hare's Skylight, and several Shakespeare plays. She starred in the play Hitchcock Blonde in London in 2003, causing a stir when she appeared in a nude scene for her role as the ‘blonde’. |
