Pillsbury, Harry Nelson

Pillsbury, Harry Nelson (1872–1906)

US chess player. He beat an unprecedented field including the world champion, the ex-champion, and the champions of six countries, in Hastings, England (1895). He won the US title in 1897 and 1898. Pillsbury was born in Somerville, Massachusetts, and died of apoplexy.
