Pinconning

Town in Bay County, eastern Michigan, USA, on the Pinconning River, 3 km/2 mi west of Saginaw Bay, Lake Huron, and 29 km/18 mi north of Bay City; population (1990) 1,300. It is a summer resort and market centre, trading in chicory, beans, sugar beets, and livestock. Pinconning is noted for its cheese production, and also makes pickles. Other industries include the manufacture of vehicle parts. The Nayanquing Point State Wildlife Area lies 6 km/4 mi to the southeast.
